3.3 Battery change display
If an empty battery symbol appears in the display when
the instrument is switched on or if this symbol
,
appears during a measuring operation, it means that
new batteries must be inserted. However, it is still
possible to use the instrument briefly.
The battery status can also be viewed from the menu.

Two holes are located at the upper edge of the housing.
The value 19% (+/- 1%) must be illustrated on the display
in order to ensure a correct calibration. In the event of a
deviation in the value the instrument must be returned
to the customer service department of STORCH GmbH
for recalibration.
4. Explanation of the menu options:
Basic setting
Main men
>
4.1 Language
You can select the desired language under this menu
option [Language].
4.2 Switch off time
The switch-off time can be set anywhere from 0 minutes
(no automatic switch-off) to 255 minutes (automatic
switch-off after 255 minutes). It must be noted that only
the display is switched off at this time and that the
batteries’ energy is still being used. In order to prevent
using any energy at all, the protective cap must be
attached over the measuring needles (see 2.3 Switching
on and off).
4.3 Temperature unit (only for optional accessories /
temperature senor)
The temperature unit can be measured in °Celsius or
°Fahrenheit. The desired unit can be selected under this
menu option.
4.4 Auto-Hold
This instrument is set for continuous measurement.
This means that a measurement is conducted
continually. However, if the value of a measurement
e.g. at a difficult to access area should only take place
once and then be illustrated continuously on the
display, then the function Auto-Hold can be activated
under this menu option. The OK key must be
actuated in this mode of operation in order to conduct
a measurement.
If a green LED illuminates it confirms that the
measured value is going to be illustrated continuously
on the display. If another measurement is conducted
and the OK key is actuated, the last value will
disappear automatically.
4.5 Starteinstellung
The material type that is to be selected when the
instrument is switched on is specified under the menu
option Start setting.
Universal means that the instrument will always be set
to the material type ‘universal’ when it is switched on.
Last setting means that the instrument “notes” the
material type last used.
