Power System
The library power system consists of:
• One or two AC power distribution units (PDUs)
• One or two DC power supplies that provide voltage to the library
• An optional uninterruptible power supply ( Figure 1-2 on page 1-2 )
AC Power Distribution Units
Each power distribution unit (PDU):
• Operates within 100 to 127 VAC or 200 to 240 VAC at 50/60 Hz
• Distributes AC voltage to a library DC power supply
• Protects the library from overcurrent by circuit breakers
In addition, the standard PDU supplies AC voltage to the drive column. A
second, optional PDU can supply power for redundancy.
DC Power Supplies
If the library has two DC power supplies, one supply powers the library during
normal operation. If a fault is detected, the second DC power supply assumes
control, and the library posts the error to the FSC log.
Uninterruptible Power Supply
The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is an
optional
feature from APC
designed to prevent blackouts, brownouts, sags and surges in AC power. This
UPS is located in the rack area above the operator panel.
