Concrete pipe – cut recess

Sequence of cuts (1 to 4) is important:

► First, cut hard-to-reach areas

► Always make severing cuts so that the abra‐

sive wheel is not pinched

► Use wedges and/or leave ridges that are bro‐

ken after cutting

► If the severed part remains in the recess after

cutting (due to wedges, ridges used), do not

make any further cuts – break the severed part

Cutting Wheels

Abrasive wheels are exposed to extremely high

loads especially during freehand cutting.
Therefore only for use of approved and corre‐

spondingly labeled abrasive wheels with hand-

held machines as per EN 13236 (diamond) or

EN 12413 (composite resin). Note maximum per‐

missible speed of the abrasive wheel – risk of

accident!
The abrasive wheels, which have been devel‐

oped by STIHL in cooperation with renowned

manufacturers of abrasive wheels, are of high

quality and tailored precisely to the respective

intended use as well as the engine performance

of the cut-off machine.
They are of consistently outstanding quality.

4.1

Transport and storage

Do not expose abrasive wheels to direct sun‐

shine or other thermal stresses during trans‐

port and storage

Avoid jolting and impacts

Stack abrasive wheels flat on a level surface

in the original packaging in a dry place where

the temperature is as constant as possible

Do not store abrasive wheels in the vicinity of

aggressive fluids

Store abrasive wheels in a frost-free place

Composite Abrasive

Wheels

for dry applications

for wet applications

The proper selection and use of composite resin

cutting wheels ensures economical use and
