and Harness without these warnings 

and instructions. Allow only persons 

who fully understand these warnings 

and instructions to use the AP  Battery 

Belt and Harness.

2.1 Intended Use

The AP Battery Belt is designed for 

carrying one AP Battery Bag with 

Connecting Cord (Illustration 3) and 

one Extra AP Battery Bag 

(Illustration 2) right on the operator‘s 

waist. Alternatively, it can be used to 

carry up to two ExtraAP Battery Bags.

WARNING

■ Use of a STIHL AP Battery Belt for 

any purpose other than supporting an 

AP Battery Bag could lead to 

personal injury and property damage. 

■ When an AP Battery Bag with 

Connecting Cord is attached to the 

AP Battery Belt, the operator can 

power any of the following STIHL 

power tools:
– STIHL MSA chain saws, except 

top

-

handle units

– STIHL HTA pole pruners
– STIHL FSA trimmers and brush 

cutters

– STIHL HSA hedge trimmers
– STIHL HLA extended reach hedge 

trimmers

– STIHL BGA blowers

■ Do not use a STIHL AP Battery Belt or 

AP Battery Bag with Connecting Cord 

when working with STIHL MSA top-

handle chain saws, STIHL TSA cut-

off machines or STIHL RMA lawn 

mowers. Use with these products 

could lead to severe personal injury 

and property damage from 

entanglement of the connecting cord, 

loss of control and loss of balance.

■ To reduce the risk of personal injury 

or property damage, including 

damage to the AP Battery Bag or 

connecting cord:

– Never charge a battery in the 

AP Battery Bag.

– Never connect multiple 

AP Battery Bags together.

– Never use any AP Battery Bag 

to transport any object other 

than a STIHL AP battery.

2.2 Operator

WARNING

■ Operating an outdoor power tool can 

be strenuous. The operator must be 

in good physical condition and mental 

health. To reduce the risk of personal 

injury from fatigue and loss of control:

– Check with your doctor before 

using the power tool if you have 

any health condition that may be 

aggravated by strenuous work.

– Do not operate the power tool 

while under the influence of any 

substance (drug, alcohol or 

medication, etc.) that might 

impair vision, balance, dexterity 

or judgment.

– Be alert. Do not operate the 

power tool when you are tired. 

Take a break if you become 

tired.

– Do not permit minors to use the 

AP Battery Belt and Harness.

2.3  Using the AP Battery Belt 

and Harness

WARNING

■ Misuse may result in personal injury 

and property damage.

– Use the AP Battery Belt and 

Harness only as described in 

these instructions.

– Never modify the AP Battery 

Belt or Harness in any way.

■ Using an AP Battery Belt or Harness 

that is modified, damaged, improperly 

adjusted or improperly maintained 

can lead to a malfunction and 

increase the risk of serious personal 

injury or death.

– Never attempt to modify the 

AP Battery Belt and Harness in 

any way.

– Make sure the nylon straps and 

other components of the 

AP Battery Belt and Harness 

are in good condition and free of 

damage. If any of the straps or 

other components are worn, 

weakened, cracked or otherwise 

damaged, contact your 

authorized STIHL servicing 

dealer to have them replaced. 

Do not use the AP Battery Belt 

and Harness until the problem 

has been corrected.   

– Make sure the AP Battery Bag 

with Connecting Cord or 

Extra AP Battery Bag are 

properly adjusted and secure on 

your AP Battery Belt before 

starting work.
