Series 4141 Powerhead
Each half of the crankcase may be
replaced separately in the case of
damage.
Ball bearings are factory-installed in
replacement crankcases.
If the original crankcase is used
again, remove the gasket residue
and clean the mating surfaces - they
must be cleaned very thoroughly to
ensure a perfect seal.
Install crankshaft (1) in flywheel
side of crankcase.
Note:
The long crankshaft stub with the
slot for the Woodruff key (2) must be
installed at the flywheel side.

Place gasket over pins on
crankcase.
Insert crankshaft in ball bearing
at starter side and push the two
halves of the crankcase together.
Guide sleeves at starter side
must engage holes in flywheel

Insert screws from flywheel side
of crankcase and tighten down to
10 Nm (7.5 lbf.ft).
– Install oil seals - see 5.4.

– Fit the fuel tank - see 9.8.1.
– Install the piston - see 5.6.2.
Note:
Cylinder is installed later.
Slide wooden assembly block (2)
1108 893 4800 under the piston
and rest piston (1) on it.
– Fit the Woodruff key.

flywheel with a standard solvent-
based degreasant containing no
chlorinated or halogenated
hydrocarbons - see 11.
– Fit flywheel on crankshaft and
tighten down nut to 19 Nm
(14 lbf.ft).
– Install the clutch - see 4.2.
– Fit starter cup on crankshaft and
tighten down to 19 Nm (14 lbf.ft).
Install rewind starter and tighten
down to 4 Nm (3 lbf.ft) - see 7.2
and 7.3.
– Install cylinder with attached
components - see 5.6.2.
