7. Initial start-up
f
f
Check the safety valve (see chapter "Maintenance").

KV 40: Check the pressure reducing valve (see chapter
"Maintenance").
Adjusting the flow rate
f
f
Set the flow rate at the shut-off valve of the safety assembly.
KV 40: Adjusting the pressure reducing valve
The pressure reducing valve is set to 0.4 MPa at the factory (for
setting range, see chapter "Specification / Data table").

1 Quadrant
f
f
Remove the cap in order to adjust the pressure reducing
valve.
f
f
Turn the quadrant anti-clockwise to reduce the pressure or
clockwise to increase it.
8. Troubleshooting
Problem
Cause
Remedy
During heating, no water
drips from the safety
valve.
The non-return valve is
faulty.
Check the function of the
non-return valve. If nec-
essary, replace the safety
assembly.
After heat-up has ended,
water drips from the
safety valve.
The safety valve is con-
taminated.
Clean or replace the safe-
ty valve.
9. Maintenance
9.1 Safety valve
Note
The safety valve cannot be repaired.
f
f
In the case of faulty operation, replace the complete
safety valve.
9.1.1 Checking the safety valve
f
f
For safety reasons, check the safety valve twice a year.
f
f
Remove the cap. Turn the bleed cap 2 to 3 times anti-clock-
wise. Water should then drain into the tundish.
f
f
Draw off hot water until the heater of the DHW cylinder
switches on.
During the heat-up process, expansion water will drip from the
safety valve into the tundish.
f
f
Check the function of the non-return valve if no water drips
during heat-up.
No water must drip out after heat-up has been completed.
f
f
Should water nevertheless drip after heat-up, clean the safe-
ty valve and check the water inlet pressure.
f
f
KV 30 | KV 307: If necessary, install a pressure reducing valve.
KV 40: Check the function of the pressure reducing valve. If
necessary, clean or replace the pressure reducing valve.
9.1.2 Removing / cleaning the safety valve
f
f
Isolate the DHW cylinder from the power supply.
f
f
Remove the cap from the shut-off valve. Turn the shut-off
valve clockwise to shut off the cold water inlet.
f
f
Drain the DHW cylinder.
f
f
Undo the safety valve.
f
f
Clean the seat and gasket of the safety valve.
f
f
Refit the safety valve.
f
f
Check the safety valve.
