CHAIN AND BAR MAINTENANCE

Chain
Standard adjustment of the cutting teeth:

Make sure to wear safety gloves.

Before filing:

•

Make sure the chain is held in a safe way.

•

Make sure the engine is off.

•

Use a rounded and suitable size file for the chain.

Chain type: 91 VG

File size: 5/32 inches (4,0 mm)

Place the file on the cutting teeth and
push straight forward. Keep the file
position like shown.

After each cutting teeth has been filed,
check the depth measurer and file it at
a suitable level, as shown in the
picture.

It is very important for a smooth and safe operation to keep the cutting teeth sharpened.

The cutting teeth have to be sharpened when:

•

The sawdust become dust.

•

Needs extra force to saw.

•

The cutting is not straight.

•

Vibration increases.

•

Fuel consumption increases.
