Attach the appropriate charger as described in the “Charging/Recharging the Light”
section. Operate the unit as outlined in the previous section.
adjusting the pivot tube
The pivot tube allows the light bar to be tilted backward and forward to direct the
illumination upward or downward.
cAutION: tO REDucE tHE RISK OF PRODuct DAMAGE:
•
Do not attempt to “force” the pivot tube beyond its maximum angle.
•
The pivot tube was designed to tilt forward and backward only.
•
The pivot tube was designed to be used when the unit is hanging or attached to a
surface using its magnetic base. Using it when the unit is placed on a level, non-metallic
surface may cause the light bar to fall over and sustain damage.
•
Never attempt to rotate the light tube itself. Always use the pivot tube to adjust the area
of illumination.
using the hanging hook and magnetic base
The hanging hook and magnetic base allow you to position the light bar for convenient,
hands-free operation. The hanging hook rotates 360° to direct illumination as needed.
cAutION: tO REDucE tHE RISK OF PRODuct DAMAGE:
•
When the hanging hook is in use or the light is attached using the magnetic base, do not
shake the light.
•
When light is hung by the hanging hook or attached using the magnetic base, do not
shake the light or object that it is hanging from or attached to. Do not hang the light from
or attach the light to any electrical wires or anything that it is not secure.
•
Only use the hanging hook for hanging the light bar. The hanging hook is not intended to
support additional weight. Do not attach or hang anything additional to the light or risk of
breakage may occur.
MaIntenance
Your appliance has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum
of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper care and regular
cleaning.
Warning!
Before performing any maintenance or cleaning of the appliance, unplug the unit
from the power supply.
•
From time to time wipe the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive or
solvent-based cleaner. Do not immerse the appliance in water.
chargIng/rechargIng the lIght
This unit is shipped in a partially charged state. Charge unit after purchase and before first
use using the ac mains charger for 2-1/2 hours or until the red charging status indicator
lights solid. Charge after each use.
IMPORtANt: When the unit is not in use, we recommend that the battery is charged
at least every 30 days.
charging/recharging using the ac mains charger

Make sure the BarFlex
®
is turned off.
•
Insert the barrel connector of the ac mains charger into the 6 vdc charging port on the
back of the unit. Insert the plug end into a functioning ac mains outlet. The red charging
status LED will flash to indicate the unit is charging.
•
Charge for approximately 2-1/2 hours or until the red charging status indicator lights solid.
charging/recharging using the 12 vdc charger (optional
accessory)
•
Make sure the BarFlex
®
is turned off.
•
Plug the barrel tip of the supplied 12 vdc charger into the 6 vdc charging port.
•
Insert the 12 vdc plug end into the accessory outlet of your vehicle or other 12 vdc power
source.
•
Charge for approximately 3 hours or until the red charging status indicator lights solid.
cAutION:
DO NOT CHARGE FOR LONGER THAN 3 HOURs UsING THIs METHOD.
Note:
When using a vehicle’s 12 vdc accessory outlet as a charging source, be aware that some
vehicles require you to turn on the ignition to power the accessory outlet.

Position the unit as desired. Press the light mode pushbutton on the front of the unit.
•
Press once for high intensity.
•
Press again for medium intensity.
•
Press a third time for to turn the light off.
•
Press and hold the light mode pushbutton for about five seconds for flashing LEDs.
On a single charge, the light will provide steady illumination for approximately 6 hours on
its minimum (dimmest) setting; approximately 2.5 hours on its maximum (brightest) setting.
