General Notes Regarding Safety
3.1 Safety instructions for installation and operating personnel
The operating instructions contain fundamental notes regarding safety, which must be
observed during installation, operation and maintenance. Non-observance can result in
a hazard to persons, plant and environment.
Before assembly/commissioning:

Read the operating instructions.
X
Provide the assembly and operating personnel with adequate training.
X
Make certain that the contents of the operating instructions have been fully understood
by the personnel responsible.

The national assembly and installation directives (e.g. IEC/EN 60079-14) apply.
When operating the device:

Keep the operating instructions on hand at the place of installation.
X
Observe safety instructions.
X
Observe national safety and accident prevention regulations.
X
Only operate the device in accordance with its performance data.
X
Maintenance or repair work, which is nor described in the operating instructions must
not be carried out without prior agreement with the manufacturer.

Any damage may render explosion protection null and void.
X
No modifications/alterations must be made to the devices, which will impair their
explosion protection.
X
The devices may only be fitted and used if they are in an undamaged, dry and clean
condition.

3.2 Warning notes
Inn these operating instructions, warnings are sub-divided as follows:
They are always identified by the word “WARNING“ and sometimes also have symbol
specifying the danger.

Risk due to unauthorised work being performed on the device!

There is a risk of injury to persons and material damage.

Assembly, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance must only be
performed by authorised personnel who have been trained to do so.
