Filter Mode Enable/Disable
The MPG-2ES includes a filtering mode to smooth out the erratic demands transmitted from the electric meter which happen
for a number of known and unknown reasons. This mode allows you to use 2 to 10 samples, each at about 8 seconds long,
to average usage, and thus smooth kW demand, over the selected interval from approximately 16 to 80 seconds.
Depending on the device receiving the pulses and the methodology it uses to interpret them, this can be a great help in
representing the
real
kW demand and eliminate the quantitization problem caused by the meter's measureement method.
To enable the filter mode select
Enable
in the Filter field. Hit <Send>. The serial link on the MPG-2ES will return the
following:
