General Information
Information in this manual should be read by all personnel involved in installation, setup, operation and maintenance of
W-series control modules.
NOTE:
In this manual,’stem-raised’ is understood to be when the valve stem is fully retracted into the actuator.’Stem-

Models and Specifications
Control Modules are used with pneumatically actuated valves to protect and deploy stem feedback switches and/or air
solenoid valves. NEMA 4X enclosures mount on top of valve actuator. An indicator stem extends into the control top to
provide a position-measurement surface for feedback switches.
Two basic types of control modules are: W-series 3-piece and the Set and Forget control modules. This manual covers
the 3-piece control top.
Materials
Operating Parameter
Temperature
W-series control manuals are designed to work in the
temperature range of 32°F to 180°F (0° - 82°C). W-series
control modules are intended for normal exterior cleaning
procedures.
Operating temperature and environment determine the
materials used for seals. The following materials are
available for seals in the temperature range listed:
Nitrile
Thermal range of application:
•
-32° to 275° F (-30°F to 225°F)
Chemical Resistance:
•
Acids in 2-5% concentration up to 212°F (100°C)
•
Caustics in 2% concentration up to 105°F (41°C)
•
Oils and fats
Nitrile seals comply with FDA standards.
