INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
PERIMETER RING INSTALLATION
The perimeter ring is designed to create a wall around the
perimeter of the merry go round. The ring should be installed
after the merry go round has been installed.
The ring is manufactured in four sections and it can be
difficult to install and must be installed level with the top
surface of the platform and the space between the top of the
ring and the MGR platform must be equal around the entire
perimeter of the MGR platform. Each section has a top and
bottom flange for strength and a flange at each end for
connecting ring sections together with bolts.
We have included leveling feet on each section of the ring
(installing a block below each foot can be helpful) to help
level the ring. Additionally, we include chain and turnbuckle
anchors that attach to the ring on one end and are anchored to
the ground with a ground spike on the other end. These
anchors provide additional adjustment for ring leveling,
adjustment for spacing of the ring and merry go round
platform and help hold the ring in position when backfilling.
Maintaining separation between the ring and platform is
essential in allowing the platform to spin.
We also have holes on the bottom ring flange which
additional anchor spikes (or even concrete anchors if you
wish to install footings) can be driven through once leveled to
help hold the ring in position.
__13. If using any material under feet, have them ready. Attach
the feet to the bottom of the ring sections and secure.
__14. Place two ring sections together and connect them to each
other (do not tighten completely) bottom and middle holes on the
ends using 3/8” x 1
¼ ” bolts, two washers and an nut. Attach the
chains to the turnbuckles at each end of the turnbuckle using D-
shackles and then the end of one chain the top hole on the
perimeter ring using the same size bolt and washer, through the
chain link, then the ring sections, another washer and finally
secure with the nut (do not tighten).
__15 Repeat for the remaining ring sections.
__16. Level the top of the ring to the top of the MGR platform and
tighten bolts as you go. Use the feet to help level and hold the
ring. Use the turnbuckle anchors by anchoring the other end of the
chain into the ground with the spikes that were included. This will
help keep the ring in position.
