Sewing Zippers
1.
To sew zippers, set the stitch length between 1 and 4, depending on the thickness of the fabric.
2.
Remove the presser foot currently installed and
install the zipper presser foot.
3.
Pin or baste the zipper tape to the fabric and place it
under the foot. Move the loose threads behind the
needle and toward the back of the machine before
lowering the foot.
4.
To sew the left side of the zipper, guide the edge of
the zipper foot along the zipper teeth and stitch
through the garment and tape. Turn the fabric and
sew the other side of the zipper in the same way as
you did on the previous side.
5.
To sew past the zipper pull, lower the needle into the
fabric, raise the presser foot, and push the zipper pull
behind the presser foot. Lower the presser foot and
continue to sew.
