Adjusting the Presser Foot Pressure
When sewing several layers of thick fabrics, the presser foot can be
raised to a second stage for easy positioning of the material
(A)
.
To adjust the presser foot pressure, turn the presser foot pressure dial on
the side of the machine. The presser foot pressure is preset at the factory

Thread Tension
The bobbin thread tension is preset at the factory and should require little readjustment in
normal use.
To test the bobbin thread tension, remove the bobbin case and bobbin from the machine and hold the
bobbin case suspended by the thread. Shake it once or twice. If the tension is correct, the thread will
unwind about 2 inches (5cm). If the tension is too tight, it will not unwind. If the tension is too loose, the
thread will unwind for more than 2 inches (5cm).
Lower Thread Tension
1.
To adjust the lower thread tension, turn the small screw on the side
of the bobbin case.
Upper Thread Tension
2.
The “basic” thread tension dial setting is 4.
3.
To increase the tension, turn the thread tension dial to a higher
number. To reduce the tension, turn the thread tension dial to a lower
