3-4 Alert Indication
Visual Alert Indication (ALR/ACK)
If an alert is pending, the alert priority of the highest alert is automati-
cally indicated at the left of the alert display area (above the mile coun-
ters).
The total number of pending alerts is indicated at the right.
Alarm Alert Indication
Note The NAVIKNOT alert management with NMEA message selection
ALR/ACK
differentiates between alarms and warnings as alert priorities.
The alert priority of the topmost alert and the total number of active alerts
are indicated in the alert display area of the main display.
Additional alert information as alert ID (two digit) and alert status are only
displayed in the alert list.
Note If NMEA messages ALR/ACK are selected for alert management,
the NAVIKNOT alerts have no IEC standard categorization.
Pending alarms have one of two possible alert states:
• Unacknowledged (alert priority flashing)
• Acknowledged (alert priority not flashing)
Not acknowledged:
The alarm is pending and the operator has not yet acknowledged the
alarm (error cause is active or rectified).

Note A not acknowledged alert condition is always shown on a flashing back-
ground (red or yellowish orange), no matter whether the error cause is
present (ACTIVE alert condition) or omitted (RECTIFIED alert condition).
