9. COMMISSIONING
For first use, check that:
•
Packaging is intact and has protected the device during transportation
•
Check that all parts included in the packing list are present
•
General functionality of the device
•
Product cleanliness
•
Absence of cuts, holes, tears or abrasions on the entire structure
•
Conditions of wear of the device.
•
Check that the buckles are working properly.
•
Check that the spring catches are working correctly, if present on the model.
•
Check that the re-winding system is working correctly, if present on the model.
See paragraph 11 for how to carry out the above-mentioned checks.
Do not modify the device or its parts for any reason as this could cause damage to the patient and/or rescuers.
Failure to take the above measures will preclude safe use of the device, resulting in risk of damage to the patient, operators and the device itself.
For subsequent use, perform the operations specified in paragraph 12.
If the above conditions are met, the device may be considered ready for use; otherwise, you must immediately remove the device from service and contact the Manufacturer.
Do not alter or modify the device arbitrarily, as doing so could result in unpredictable operation and damage to the patient or rescuers and will void the warranty and
release the Manufacturer from all liability.
10. OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS
See paragraph 11 - Proper use for operating characteristics.
11. PROPER USE
Primary medical evaluations must be carried out before intervening on the patient.
Before using any type of belt described in this manual, carefully read the operating instructions of the device with which it is intended to be used.
11.1 ADJUSTING LENGTH
The length of the belts can be adjusted so that they can be adapted effectively to the patient in consideration of the device in use.
To tighten the belt, pull the free end of the belt in the opposite direction to the
buckle.
To extend the belt, press the free end towards the inside of the buckle, then pull
the strap out of the buckle. Repeat the operation several times until the desired
length is reached.

11.3 1-PIECE BELT USE
1-piece belts are suitable for use with:
- Vacuum mattresses
- Pick-up stretchers
To apply the belts, lay them on the floor, place the device with which you want to use them above the belts, position the patient according to the instructions of the device in
use and then adjust and close them so that the patient is attached to the device.
Check that the operation has been carried out correctly and that the patient is properly attached to the device.
11.4 2-PIECE BELT USE
2-piece belts are suitable for use with:
- Ambulance stretchers
- Emergency stretchers
- Spine boards
- Pick-up stretchers
- Vacuum mattresses equipped with perimeter rope
- Basket stretchers
- Transport chairs
- Stair chairs
The choice of buckle type is linked to the specifications of the device in use.
