DO NOT place the other hand on the log while the
wedge is traveling towards the foot plate . NEVER touch
the log while hydraulics are engaged .
If the log does not split completely once the wedge
has fully traveled on the beam rails, retract the wedge
by pulling back on the handle as describe above and
allow the stripper plates to hold the log while the wedge
retracts . This will free the stuck log from the wedge .
•
ALWAYS
keep hands away from the
log and stripper plates while the
wedge retracts .
•
ALWAYS
keep work zone clean of split
wood and debris to avoid trip hazards .
Remember to keep the beam rails and debris slots free
of wood and debris .
For logs over 100 pounds, we recommend the log splitter
to be placed in vertical position .
nOtICe:
Holding the valve in the “forward” position at
the end of the stroke may damage the pump .
nOtICe:
To extend the life of the hydraulic cylinder,
avoid “bottoming out” wedge plate to the foot plate . To
conform with the industry safety recommendations, the
wedge stops at a minimum of 1” from the foot plate .
