b) Electrical safety
• Before connecting the product to the mains, check that your local A/C mains voltage matches
the specifications on the nameplate.
• This device was constructed according to protection class II. Only connect the adapter plug to
a standard mains socket (230 V/AC, 50 Hz) connected to the public grid.
•
Never pour liquids over electrical devices or place objects filled with liquid next to the product.
If liquid or an object does enter the interior of the device, power down the respective socket
(e.g. switch off the circuit breaker), and then remove the mains plug from the mains socket.
Discontinue use and take the product to a specialist repair centre.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation generated may destroy the product. The mains adapter may also
generate a fatal electric shock!
• Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it and putting it to use. This
may take several hours.
• Do not touch the mains adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may cause a fatal
electric shock! Switch off the mains voltage to the socket containing the power adapter (switch
off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, and then switch off at
the corresponding RCD protective switch). You can then unplug the mains adapter from the
mains socket. Dispose of the faulty mains adapter in an environmentally friendly manner and
discontinue use. Replace it with a power adapter of the same design.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Only power the product using the mains adapter provided.
• Only connect the power adapter to a standard mains socket connected to the public grid.
Before plugging in the power adapter, check whether the voltage stated on the power adapter
complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the mains adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use
the grips on the plug.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are not pinched, kinked or damaged
by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses
a risk of injury.
• Ensure that nobody can trip over the connecting cable.
• For safety reasons, always disconnect power adapters from the mains during thunderstorms.
• Avoid exposing the product to electrical discharges (ESD), as this may damage the interior
components.

Setup and installation
• The transmitter and receiver can be placed on a level surface. If you need to secure the transmitter or
receiver, you can use the mounting brackets provided to fix the housing to walls or furniture. The product
comes with four mounting brackets and eight extra screws.
• Before mounting the product in place, remove any connected devices and power adapters from the
DC 5V
power-in socket (4, 10) on the transmitter and receiver.
• Loosen and remove the screws on the front of the transmitter and receiver.
• Place a mounting bracket on the side and screw it to the housing with the screws. The extra screws in the
packaging can be used to replace the original screws in the event that they are lost.
• Use the unit as a template and mark the drill holes on the surface through the holes (6) in the mounting
brackets.
• Drill the required holes in the surface. You can screw the transmitter and receiver in a matching orientation
(vertical/horizontal/etc.) Ensure that the connectors do not need to be inserted over a corner such that
the cables need to be bent. The cables should always be placed in a straight line with the connector and
should only be looped in a large radius.
Ensure that no existing cables or pipes (including water pipes) are damaged when drilling
mounting holes or securing screws.
• Use suitable screws (e.g. chipboard screws), or in the case of mineral surfaces such as brick or
plasterboard walls, suitable dowels (not included).
