MOUNTING THE ACCESSORIES
When mounting the polishing accessories fix the
sander spindle (1) by pressing the lock button
(3) positioned on the gear box.
WARNING:
Never press the button
(3) while the spindle (8) is still rotating!
MOUNTING THE fLEXIBLE BACKING
PAD
The precise and accurate performance of the
below described procedures guarantees the
reliable and safe operation with the power tool.
All instructions are important and result from our
huge experience gained during design and op-
eration of power tools for the described use.
The flexible backing pad (7) is mounted onto the
spindle (1) by M14 thread. The flexible backing
pad (7) is equipped with hook-and-loop fasten-
ing to the operating tools.
The machine is delivered with the flexible back
-
ing pad (7) assembled.
Perform the following procedures in case it is
necessary to mount the flexible backing pad (7)
again:
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac
-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend fixing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Clean the threaded and face surfaces of
the spindle (1) using soft cloth and brush.
4. Clean the face surface of the support bush
(6) and the flexible backing pad (7) using soft
cloth and brush.
5. Mount the support bush (6) onto the spin-
dle (1).
6. Ensure there is no dirt or foreign body be-
tween the spindle (1) face and the support bush
(6) face which may hamper their contact. The
presence of foreign bodies and disturbed face
contact are prerequisites for inexact movement
of the operating tool and increased vibration
causing unsatisfactory quality of the processed
surface.
7. Take the flexible backing pad (7).
8. Press the spindle lock button (3) and ro
-
tate the flexible backing pad (7) clockwise until
the button sinks and locks the spindle (1) move-
ment.
9. Tighten the flexible backing pad (7) to the
spindle (1) securely.
10. Release the spindle lock button (3) and en-
sure that the button is back in its initial position
and does not lock the spindle (1) movement. If
necessary rotate the flexible backing pad (7) by
hand to release the button (3) so it can return in
its initial position.
REMOVING THE fLEXIBLE BACKING
PAD
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac
-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend fixing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Press the spindle lock button (3) and ro-
tate the flexible backing pad (7) clockwise until
the button sinks and locks the spindle (1) move-
ment.
4. Take the flexible backing pad (7) and ro
-
tate it anti-clockwise until the pad (7) to unwind
it from the spindle (1) thread entirely.
5. Remove the support bush (6) from the
spindle (1).
6. Clean the face surface of the support bush
(6) and the flexible backing pad (7) using soft
cloth and brush and store them for future use.
POLISHING AND APPLYING POLISH-
ING PASTE WITH SPONGE
The choice of a sponge depends on the opera-
tion you intend to perform. For applying polish
-
ing paste use harder foam sponges, and for
polishing use softer foam sponges to achieve
surface gloss and lustre.
We recommend using original SPARKY acces-
sories specially designed for achieving optimum
results.
Use only sponges with hook-and-loop fastening.
Do not use sponges with diameter exceeding
the maximum permitted for the power tool.
POLISHING WITH LAMBSWOOL PAD
Polishing with lambswool pad (10) is performed
to achieve surface gloss and lustre.
We recommend using original SPARKY acces-
sories specially designed for achieving optimum
results.
Use only lambswool pads with hook-and-loop
fastening.
Do not use lambswool pads with diameter ex-
ceeding the maximum permitted for the power
tool.
MOUNTING THE SPONGE OR THE
LAMBSWOOL PAD
The machine is delivered assembled. All you
have to do is mount the selected operating tool -
foam sponge or lambswool pad and check if the
flexible pad (7) is fastened firmly.
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac
-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend fixing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Tighten the flexible backing pad (7) to the
spindle (1) securely and follow steps 8,9 and
10 from section „Mounting the flexible backing
pad”.
4. Mount the selected operating tool trying to
ensure it is coaxial with the flexible pad (7).
5. Ensure that the sponge (9) or the lambs
-
wool pad (10) is coaxial with the flexible pad (7)
to achieve proper operation.
6. Press the operating tool to the flexible pad
(7) axially to ensure maximum fastening of their
hook-and-loop surfaces.
7. Turn the machine with the operating tool
facing downward.
8. Plug the power tool.
9. Turn the electronic regulator (8) to the
maximum recommended position appropriate
for the selected accessory. Slide the ON/OFF
switch slider (5) forward to switch on the ma-
chine.
10. Let the machine operate at no load for ap-
proximately one minute not allowing the operat-
ing tool to contact any surface.
11. At the event of increased vibrations or
other symptoms not typical for operation, stop
the machine immediately and search for the
reason. If you can not detect the reason your-
self - contact the nearest authorised SPARKY
service centre. Operating with a faulty machine
may cause an accident!
12. If no trouble is detected then you can start
operation.
REPLACING THE SPONGE OR THE
LAMBSWOOL PAD
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
