Door Gasket
To inspect the door gasket:
Remove the door gasket.
1.
Grasp the gasket in both hands and turn it inside out.
2.
Inspect the inside of the gasket. This is where you are most likely to find a
3.
potential problem.
If any inconsistencies are found (
e.g.
, cuts, cracks, dry rot, rippling) on the
4.
inside of the gasket, it should be replaced immediately.

Always install door gaskets on a clean, grease-free metal rim. Remove
5.
excess grease from the metal using isopropyl alcohol on a fresh paper towel
or cloth. The gasket may also be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol.
Once the new or cleaned gasket is installed, apply a very thin coating of high
6.
vacuum grease to the outer surface of the gasket only. The gasket should
appear slightly moist.
