Receiver
To achieve the best performance from your Southwire Circuit Breaker Finder,
carefully follow these 3 guidelines.
1). Ensure that the Receiver is being held at the correct contact angle and that
the scanning head touches the middle of each circuit breaker (See Figure 4).
2). Perform at least two complete scans of the circuit breaker panel. The first
scan is a calibration scan. During the first scan the Receiver will likely detect
more than one circuit breaker (green LED turns on). This is normal so just
ignore the results of the first scan.
3). Do not press the On/Off/Reset button between scans.
Operation
Testing the Transmitter and Receiver
1. Plug the transmitter into a powered electrical outlet. The transmitter’s LED will
glow red indicating that both the electrical outlet and transmitter are powered.
2. Turn the receiver ON by momentarily pushing the On/Off/Reset button. The red
LED in the scanning head will illuminate and the beeper will begin beeping,
indicating the receiver is ready to use. If not functioning, install or replace the
battery. (Refer to Battery Replacement Section.)
3. To verify that the Transmitter and Receiver are functioning properly, touch the
scanning head to the face of the Transmitter as shown in Figure 3. The Green
LED Indicator will turn on and the beeper will change to a continuous tone
indicating that the transmitter and receiver are operating normally.
