Power failure backup batteries
• In the event of a power failure, settings (e.g. the time) will be deleted. To prevent this from happening, the
device has power failure protection batteries.
• Open the battery compartment (24) on the back of the device and insert two 1.5V, type AAA/UM-4 batteries.
These batteries are not included.
• When doing so, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-) as shown by the markings.
• Close the battery compartment. Make sure that the cover clicks properly into place.
• Change the batteries, when they run out.

Switching the device on and off
• Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the information on the label of the device. Connect the
power plug (25) to a suitable power outlet.
• The time display 12:00 will blink, if the time is not set.
• Press the
ON/OFF
button (17) on the device to switch it on.
• Turn the device off again by means of the
ON/OFF
button, when you have finished using it.
• Pull the plug out of the power outlet in order to disconnect the device completely from the mains supply.
Selecting an operating mode
• Choose an operating mode by means of the
FUNCTION
switch (22).

Display
Various LED indicator lights will come on in the display (7) in order to show that a function is switched on.
