Communicating with an Access Point (Access Point)
An Access Point network is a network that extends an existing wired local network to wireless devices by
providing an Access Point, for example the
Sony PCWA-A200 Access Point . The Access Point bridges the
wireless and wired LAN and acts as a central controller for the Wireless LAN. The Access Point coordinates
transmission and reception from multiple wireless devices within a specific range.
To communicate with an Access Point, proceed as follows:
1 Turn on the Wireless LAN switch on the front side of the computer.
2 Click the network icon in the taskbar displaying ORiNOCO-Radio connection .
The ORiNOCO Client Manager dialog box appears.
3 Click the Actions menu and choose Add/Edit Configuration Profile .
The Add/Edit Configuration Profile dialog box appears.
Note that you can also access this dialog box by clicking Start , point to Settings , Control Panel and
select Wireless Network .
4 Click the Add button.
The Edit Configuration dialog box appears.
