Camera Switch Basic
Operation
Lens functions can be assigned to five switches (VTR, RET,
and AUX drive unit switches, and AUX1 and AUX2 zoom
demand switches) from the information display.
VTR, RET, Fr1P, Shtl, and Fr1F functions are assigned by
default, respectively.
This section describes how to assign functions to the
switches in Basic mode.

Press the DISPLAY switch
The display is illuminated.

Select the name of the switch to which to a assign a
function using the control key, then press the control
key.
The name of the switch, and the default or previous
function assignment setting start blinking.

Press the control key left or right to select the
function to assign.
See the following table for the supported function
assignments.

Press the control key to apply the setting.
The following table provides a descriptions for each assigned function.

Function Description
VTR Press to start/stop VTR operation.
RET Press and hold to view the main-line video on the viewfinder.
Tips
• In the case of the PXW-Z450KC, the Rec Review (playback of recorded image) function is assigned to the
switch. For details about function assignment on the camcorder side, refer to the “Assigning Functions to
Assignable Switches” section in the Operating Instructions of the camcorder.
• If using a camcorder with a return video function, you can use that function to check the main output video.
Fr1P, Fr2P Press to move to the stored zoom position.
One position can be stored/called for Fr1P and Fr1F, and one position for Fr2P and Fr2F.
Fr1F, Fr2F
Sped
Press to move in the stored zoom direction (toward the telephoto end or the wide angle end) at the stored zoom
speed.
Shtl Press to move to the stored zoom position at the maximum speed. Release to return to the previous zoom
position at the maximum speed.
NON No function.
