A
GAME INPUT VIDEO jack
Use a video cable (not supplied) to connect the
video output of the optional video game
machine to this jack.

GAME INPUT AUDIO L/R jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect the
audio output of the optional video game
machine to these jacks. You can then output
audio through this system. To listen to the
analog sound of a connected video game, press
GAME on the unit.
Notes
• To enjoy video game sound, see “Enhancing video
game sound” on page 46, or see “Mixing video game
sound with other sound source” on page 46 for video
game sound effects.
• The video game machine image may appear on the
TV screen even if the system is turned off.
• If you press GAME on the unit while the system is
off, the system turns on, the function switches to
GAME, and the equalizer also switches to GAME
EQ.
• If you press GAME on the unit while the system is
on, the function switches to GAME and the equalizer
automatically switches to GAME EQ.
C
VIDEO/SAT IN L/R jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect an
optional analog component (VCR or satellite
tuner, etc.) to these jacks. You can then record or
listen to from the component through this
system.
D
VIDEO/SAT OUT L/R jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect an
optional analog component (VCR or MD deck,
etc.) to these jacks. You can then output audio to
the component from this system.
E
SUB WOOFER OUT jack
For MHC-RV999D, use the supplied audio cord
to connect the sub woofer (page 8).
For MHC-RV888D/RV777D, use an audio cord
(not supplied) to connect an optional sub
woofer* to this jack. You can then output audio
to the component from this system. Refer to the
operating instructions supplied with the
connected sub woofer.
* SA-RV999D is recommended. In some areas, SA-
RV999D is not available.
Note
The effects may be limited or noise may occur
depending on the connected sub woofer or the type of
music being played. For details, consult your nearest
Sony dealer.

DIGITAL OUT jack (MHC-
RV777D only)
Use a digital optical cord (square, not supplied)
to connect an amplifier with a digital optical
input jack. Sound is then output when the system
function is set to DVD. By connecting this
system to the optical input jack of the optional
amplifier equipped with Dolby Digital or DTS
decoder, you can enjoy the 5.1 channel sound. If
the jack is covered with a cap, remove it before
use.
Note
When playing a CD-DA, VIDEO CD or MP3 audio
tracks, you cannot output digital audio.

COMPONENT VIDEO OUT
jacks
Use an optional video cord to connect a TV. If
your TV accept progressive format file signals,
you must use this connection and set
“COMPONENT OUT” to “PROGRESSIVE” in
“Adjusting the TV screen” (page 28).
Note
You cannot output component video using GAME
INPUT VIDEO jack.
H
S VIDEO OUT jack
Use an S video cord (not supplied) to connect an
optional TV to this jack. You can enjoy higher
quality video images.
Note
You cannot output S video using GAME INPUT
VIDEO jack.
