XBR® Plasma WEGA™ Integrated Plasma Television

Sony’s Proprietary WEGA Engine

consists of 4 key technologies engineered and designed by Sony.

1- Composite Component Processor

which converts the incoming analog signal into a digital signal so it can be

processed. This new circuit has improved signal to noise ratio.

2- Digital Reality Creation™ MultiFunction V1

has been incorporated to up convert standard definition signals

to HD quality via a full digital bit mapping process.

3- Multi Image Driver

Designed for fixed pixel devices.

MID-XU

will be utilized in two ways. First, it’s primary job is

scale all incoming signals, SD or HD, to the configuration of the panel without degradation of signal quality. The sec-
ond will provide unique picture and picture features once impossible for fixed pixel devices. Features like Twin
View™ Picture and Picture with scalable windows and Favorite Channel Preview™ are also possible.

4- CineMotion™ Reverse 3-2 Pull Down Technology

Is a fixed algorithm irrespective of source which pre-

serves the integrity of movie film frames to create the best possible image.

Digital Component Processor

makes the necessary adjustments to improve overall contrast and sharpness. It calcu-

lates these improvements by analyzing the signal and parameter of the plasma panel.

Sony’s Proprietary IC Panel Driver

newly developed LSI for enhanced contrast levels which improves image depth

detail.

DVI-HDTV Interface (Digital Visual Interface)

The DVI-HDTV Interface has been added for the latest generation in

high definition television connectivity. a single wire delivers a full digital, uncompressed HD signal that can be received from
any DVI set top box.
