Logging on to PuTTY from a
Windows client
Logging on to the PuTTY service account can be done
from a Windows client:

Run the PuTTY utility to display the PuTTY
configuration screen. Enter the IP address of the
HDXchange server in order to open a login session,
and press the
Open
button.

A security alert dialog will be displayed. To confirm
that the computer you are trying to connect to is
trusted, press the
Yes
button.

A terminal window is then displayed in which to login
using your user name and password.

usrxxxxxx-8579
(Where xxxxxx is the 6-digit software serial number of
the server)

When successfully logged in, enter the PuTTY
commands at the ’$’ prompt.
Service account logging off
To log out from the service account: at the ’$’ prompt,
type:
logout
Clip commands
Viewing generation of proxy images
Command:
sudo /opt/dvstation/backend/scan/cron-
proxy.sh
Options: None.
Description: This command is used to manually start the
generation of proxies on the system. This can be used for
identifying clips where proxies are failing to be generated.
When run, the proxy generation process is visible in the
terminal window.
Viewing promotion of clips to the library
Command:
sudo /opt/dvstation/backend/scan/cron-
promote.sh
Options: None.
Description: This command is used to manually start the
promotion of clips to the library from
‘my bins’
. This can
be used for identifying clips on the fly which are not being
promoted to the library. When run, the promotion of clips
is visible in the terminal window.
Manually starting the promotion of clips to
the archive
Command:
sudo /opt/dvstation/backend/scan/cron-
archivingPush.sh
Options: None.
Description: This command is used to manually start the
promotion of high resolution video clips to archive using
ftp. This can be used to identify clips which are not being
