WARNING
Take care when using the manual unlocking device. Man-
ual unlocking may result in uncontrolled movement of
the gate.
After installation, ensure that:
• the mechanism is correctly adjusted
• the manual unlocking device is operating correctly

2.2. Dimensions - Fig. 2
2.3. Field of application - Fig. 3
This motorisation is designed for motorising hinged gates with a rigid
structure (wood, metal, aluminium), with the following maximum dimen-
sions:
Weight per gate leaf
400 kg
300 kg
170 kg
Width per gate leaf
2.6 m
3 m
4 m
Attention
For a large gate leaf format (larger than 2 m) or in a windy area,
Somfy recommends installing an electric lock.
͉
͉
Installing stops on the ground is not mandatory.
3. INSTALLATION
3.1. Defining the dimensions for inward opening -
Fig. 4
3.1.1. Using the Access Fix&GO Pro
The “Access Fix&GO Pro” application provides the information necessary to
install the motor correctly.
The basic data are:
• A gate leaf 50 mm thick (if the gate leaf is thicker, the opening angle
data will be reduced)
• The minimum dimension Y used for the calculation is 30 mm
• The minimum width of the pillar is 80 mm
• The value x is between -60 mm and 140 mm
• The width of the gate leaf is between 1.3 m and 4 m
• The opening time information is given for information purposes for
a 90° opening; the calculation was made using the maximum motor
speed with no slowing.
• The closure holding force information is given for information pur-
poses on a scale of 1 (weak holding force) to 7 (strong holding
force).
• The position of the mounting bracket on the pillar is given for the
smoothest possible movement with A close to B where possible.
3.1.2. Using the dimensions tables
No.
Description
A-B
Dimension to determine the mounting point of the pillar
mounting bracket
͉
͉
Recommendation A=B
X
Distance between the gate axis and the edge of the pillar
Z
Distance from the edge of the pillar to the motor's rotation
axis (length of the mounting bracket)
D
Distance between the edge of the mounting bracket and the
inside edge of the pillar
Y
Distance between the gate axis and the inside edge of the
pillar
α°
Opening angle of the gate
1) Define the required opening angle α°.
2) Measure the dimension X on the gate.
3) Calculate B = Z + X (with Z = 110 mm for the standard mounting brack-
et).
4) In the table of dimensions, define the dimension A according to the
required opening angle α° and the calculate dimension B.
Attention
Having similar values for A and B will ensure the gate's movement
is more fluid.
As the values for A and B get further apart, the gate's movement
becomes less fluid, and the force exerted on gate will vary more.
The higher the value B, the greater the force required for closing.
͉
͉
To increase the value for dimension B, use a long mounting bracket
where Z = 240 mm (ref. 9019500)
