Base Memory
Typically 640KB. Also called conventional memory.
The DOS operating system and conventional appli-
cations use this area.
Extended Memory
Above the 1MB boundary. Early IBM personal
computers could not use memory above 1MB, but
current PCs and their software can use extended
memory.
Total Memory
This option shows system memory capacity.
Drive A / Drive B
Select this field to the type(s) of floppy disk drive(s)
installed in your system. The choices are:
360KB, 5.25 in.
1.2MB, 5.25 in.
720KB, 3.5 in.
1.44MB, 3.5 in.
2.88MB, 3.5 in.
None
Video
Select the type of primary video subsystem in your
computer. The BIOS usually detects the correct video
type automatically. The BIOS supports a secondary
video subsystem, but you do not select it in setup.
Halt On
During the power-on self-test (POST), the computer
stops if the BIOS detects a hardware error. You can
tell the BIOS to ignore certain errors during POST
and continue the boot-up process.
