FIG. 10 / FIG. 11
Before removing the scale filter, first remove the
kettle from the power base and allow to cool down.
Never remove the scale filter while the kettle is still
hot or still full of water.Simply pull the scale filter
upwards
(10).
When replacing the filter, ensure that the scale
filter is located properly in its guide
(11).
Press the scale filter down fully into the body.
Note
Never
leave the scale filter loose in the kettle.
Remove scale filter
Wipe out the kettle and power base with a damp
cloth. Rinse out the inside of the kettle with water.
Remove stubborn stains with washing up liquid.
To get the best results at all times, make a
regular check to see if there are particles of
scale in the scale filter. Rinse the scale filter
under running water and use a soft brush if
necessary (no metal).
The kettle must be descaled regularly.
At the latest, the kettle should be descaled when
the time required to boil water is markedly longer
or if it cuts out too soon while heating the water.
Method:
Fill the kettle up the maximum filling level.
Close the lid. The safety lid must click into place.
Connect the power base to the mains and put
the kettle on the power base.
Switch on the kettle.
The kettle switches off automatically once it has
boiled the water. Use any standard descaler
(follow the instructions for use given by the maker).
Allow the de-scaling agent to take effect for at
least 30 minutes. Afterwards, rinse out the
appliance several times with clean water and
then boil again with cleanwater which should
then be poured away.
Repeat the process if the kettle is heavily scaled.
De-scaling
Cleaning and maintenance
Remove the kettle from the power
base and allow it to cool down each
time before cleaning. Disconnect
the plugfrom the mains.
Never immerse the appliance
or the power base in water and
never use highly corro-sive or
abrasive cleaning agents.
Note
The ON/OFF switch only operates when the
kettle is located on the power base.
Warning! Risk of scalding!
Never open or remove the lid during operation.
Switching off the kettle
The kettle switches off automatically when the
water boils - the red heating control lamp
“c“
goes off
(8).
However,you can also switch the
kettle off using the ON/OFF switch
“f“
at all times.
Note
The kettle also switches off automatically
when it is removed from the power base.
Switching the kettle back on again
The kettle can be switched back on again after
being allowed to cool down for approx. 30 seconds.
FIG. 9
Remove the kettle from the power base and
pour out the hot water
(9).
Note
As a result of its functioning, some water
can condense out of the outlet openings in
the base of the kettle andrun out over the
edge of the powerbase. This is normal and
is perfectly harmless.
If the kettle is returned to the power base, any
water left in it will only heat upif the kettle is
switched on again.
