Network I/O SB V2.1 Installation Notes
Introduction
This document describes how to upgrade the firmware on the SSL Network I/O SB 8.8 and SB i16
units.
As part of the update procedure you will be required to update both the Dante firmware on the
Brooklyn 2 module as well as the firmware on the main PCB (using Network I/O Updater). It is
important that both parts of the installation are completed and in the correct order described in this
document.
For changes to take effect the unit must be power cycled after completing the firmware and software
update installation.
Installation Procedure
Assumptions
The following points are assumed in these installation instructions:
1. Network I/O Controller
Software is installed on the computer you are using to perform
the update.
2. Network I/O Updater
software is installed on the computer used to perform the updates.
3. Audinate
Dante Firmware Update Manager
software is installed on the computer used to
perform the updates.
4. Audinate
Dante Controller
software is installed on the computer used to perform the
update.
5. All units to be updated are powered on and available on your Primary Dante network with
working and “visible” IP addresses. These can be seen using the Dante Controller where the
IP address will be displayed against the device name.
All SSL specific software will be provided in the software update package, Audinate software and
user manuals are available to download for free from the Audinate website the links to which are
provided below.
