7. Rough Alignment
To ensure antennas are not aligned on a side-lobe, sweep
through at least 10° in azimuth and elevation to verify peaks
and nulls of side lobes to find the actual center alignment.
8. Cross Section of Main Beam
Refer to your antenna manufacturer’s installation guide to
perform the following:
•
Set up the radio terminal to the pre-defined azimuth or
use binoculars or a signal mirror to locate the remote
end radio location.
•
If you can see the remote end radio, estimate the
alignment visually and tighten the pole mount brackets
with the fine adjustment bolt set to the middle of the
adjustment range.
•
Ensure the horizontal adjustment bolts are snug; only
tighten the bolts one quarter of a turn.
•
Slightly rotate each antenna up and down for best ver-
tical alignment, and left or right for best horizontal
alignment by finding the maximum RSL voltage read-
ing.
