LIGHTING AND OPERATION
PILOT AND MAIN BURNER OPERATION
Follow the lighting instructions on pages 19 to 26. When the
pilot is lit and operating properly, it should look like the adja-
cent illustration. One flame will be directed at the pilot flame
sensing rod and a second flame is directed toward the burner.
If the pilot flames do not resemble those in the adjacent illus-
tration, contact your gas service technician or Solas dealer.
After the main burner has been in operation for a few minutes,
the flames should look like those in the illustration below. Note: The flame height will vary
depending on the firing rate setting but flames should be evenly distributed across the full
width of the burner.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
STOP! Read the safety information on the previous page.
1. Turn off all electrical power to the appliance.
Press the on/off switch (1) on the fireplace to the off po-
sition.
2. DO NOT attempt to light the pilot by hand.
3. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. Then smell
for gas, including near the floor. If you smell gas,
STOP! Follow Step B in the safety information (see
page 19).
If you don't smell gas, proceed to next step.
4. Press the on/off switch on the fireplace to the on posi-
tion.
5. Read and follow instructions on how to set up and to use remote control booklet “Use and
Installation Instructions for PROFLAME 2 SYSTEM” along with pages 21 thru 26 of this
manual.
6. If the appliance will not operate, follow the instructions “To Turn Off Gas To Appliance”
