2 Safety
2.1 Appropriate Usage
The Schoolmeterbox retrieves counter pulses from the consumption meter and makes them available
to the Sunny WebBox from the SMA Solar Technology. The data are used to display the energy use
of the school. Communication takes places via RS485. The voltage is provided via a power supply
plug.
2.2 Safety Precautions
Please follow all operating and safety precautions in this manual. Failure to follow these instructions
could result in damage to the device and cause personal injury.
DANGER!
Risk of lethal electric shock when opening the inverter.
• Any work on the inverter must be carried out by qualified electricians only.
• Disconnect the inverter on the AC and DC sides as described in the inverter manual.
NOTICE!
The warranty becomes invalid if the Schoolmeterbox is opened or modified.
• The Schoolmeterbox may only be opened and modified by SMA Solar Technology.
