My firewall security software is blocking SlingPlayer
The Setup Wizard and SlingPlayer application will automatically discover Slingbox SOLO on your home
network.
Your personal firewall security software may block this process or categorize Slingbox SOLO as
an “intruding device.”
If this occurs, it will display a warning. To avoid this, you need to change your security
software settings to allow Slingbox SOLO as a device on your network. For information on making this change,
see the documentation that came with the security or firewall software.
Restoring Slingbox SOLO to Factory Settings
Certain situations may require you to restore your Slingbox SOLO to factory settings. For example:
•
If you replace the router that was originally connected to Slingbox SOLO.
•
If you forgot your password.
•
If you move your Slingbox SOLO to another house or network.
With your Slingbox SOLO powered on, press and hold the
Reset
button on the back of Slingbox SOLO for five
seconds. The lights on the front of Slingbox SOLO quickly flash and then flash slowly. Slingbox SOLO is reset
after 30 seconds. Once reset, the Power light stays on.
Note
If you restore factory settings, all of your Slingbox SOLO settings will be cleared and it will need to be
reconfigured.
