Warning: Instruct children not to walk close to, in front of, behind, or between
moving items,
•
Warning: Instruct children not to use the equipment in a manner other than
intended,
•
Warning: Instruct children not to get off equipment while it is in motion,
•
Warning: Do not allow children to wear inappropriate items, such as but not limited
to, loose fitting clothing, hood and neck drawstrings, scarves, cord-connected items,
capes and ponchos. These items can cause death by strangulation.
•
Warning: Instruct children not to attach items to the playground equipment that are
not specifically designed for use with the equipment, such as, but not limited to, jump
ropes, clothesline, pet leashes, cables and chain as they may cause a strangulation
hazard.
•
Warning: Instruct children to remove their bike or other sports helmet before playing
on the playground equipment.
•
Warning: Dress children with well fitting and full foot enclosing footwear. Examples
of inappropriate footwear are clogs, flip flops, and sandals.

T
he distance between the ground surface and the bottom step of the ladder is to be
no more than 12 inches (30.48cm).
•
Warning: Do not untie, remove or reposition any of the wooden ladder steps.
2. CHOOSING THE LADDER LOCATION
Use extreme care when selecting a location.
Do not install home playground equipment
over concrete, asphalt, or other hard surfaces.
•
Caution
: We recommend a soft, grass area underneath that is clear of ALL obstacles:
bushes, rocks, or anything else that could cause injury. If the grass course becomes hard-
packed over time, move course to a softer location.

•
Select a location that is easily viewed from your house to allow for supervision and observation.
•
Do not setup ladder over swimming pools, ponds, streams or rivers as drowning may result.
•
Choose a location that is a clear area of at least 6 feet (2m) in all directions.
WARNING: Un-Healthy Tree Hazard –
Do not
attach or use a tree or tree branch that is not
healthy, diseased or damaged. It may fail causing
serious injury or death.
