13.2 Finish the installation
Each site and project is a little different. After installation inform the operator on which component does what and how
everything works. Set the inverter display to power view and make sure that nobody except a trained professional will change
settings on the storm control unit or the inverter. Inform the operator that:
1.
The turbine is shut down and stopped only via the main switch. Not by disconnecting cables, not by approaching the
rotor and trying to stop it mechanically. After using the main switch a cool
-
down time of 60 minutes must elapse
before the turbine can be restartet.
2.
The turbines performance is visible on the main display. Under no circumstances is it allowed to make any changes
to the system or its settings.
3.
If the turbine is too loud for him during strong wind the (optional) noise control can be set to a different level
-
or, if
not installed yet, it can be refitted anytime.
13.1 Test of wind turbines function and noise level
Remember: The installation must take place on a calm day (less than 2 Bft wind speed). Thus the wind turbine will not start
-
up on its own. Connect a regulated power supply with 25 V and 5 A via banana jacks with the + and
-
input of the SkyWind NG
grid inverter (do NOT use a battery for this!). Do not change anything on the system.
The turbine should start operation. Check that the rotor blade is rotating clockwise (
view direction: rotor in front of the
tower)
. No rotation means wiring error, wrong direction of rotation means reversed polarity.
Now check the grid inverter. It should display the correct input voltage of about 25 V from the turbine and feed power
into the grid. The automatic storm control EUW
-
C18 controller must also display the input voltage of 25 V.
Nobody must be near the turbine during testing
and operation. Always stop the turbine before
approaching it.
Changes and maintenance on the system must
be performed by trained professionals
Only use a regulated power supply for testing.
Do NOT connect batteries or other supplies,
higher voltages etc. for testing!
Perform all work, testing, maintenance only in
good weather (below 2 Bft wind)!
