WARNINGS / LIMITATIONS
•
Reduce speed and adapt driving when carrying a load on crossbars;
•
Maximum load capicity of the crossbars is 200lbs (90kg). This maximum load capacity does not exceed the roof maximum load capacity of the car;
•
Be aware of the car manufacturer limitations on which the crossbars are installed;
•
Install the crossbars according to the recommandations of the car manufacturer;
•
Be aware of the manufacturer limitations for the accessories that are used;
•
Load must not be wider than the crossbars and must be evenly distributed;
•
When exceeding more than 24’’ (60cm) to the front or rear of the crossbars, the load, in addition to being attached to both sides, must be attached
to the front and rear of the load;
•
All loose or moving parts of the load must be removed or attached properly to avoid falling parts on the road;
•
Always attach carried load with carrying straps adapted to the weight of the load. Bungee cords aren’t recommanded;
•
Ensure regularly that the crossbars are solid, in good condition and well attached to the vehicle;
•
Ensure that the load is secure before taking the road. Regularly check that the load is always well fixed and safe during transport;
•
Not for offroad use;
•
Do not use universal crossbars SR-‐CB-‐101 and accessories for purposes other than those for which they were designed.
Failure to follow above guidelines voids warranty.
Installation of the Universals Crossbars
1.
Using the Hexagonal wrench (C) and the Key (D), open the jaws of the Crossbars (A) sufficiently so that they can fit onto the
raised rails of the vehicle;
2.
Place the Crossbars (A) on the raised rails of the vehicle respecting a distance betwen the Crossbars (A) of approximately 27’’
(700 mm) depending on the accessories attached to it. Center the Crossbars (A) from left to right on the vehicle;
3.
Using the Hexagonal wrench (C) and the Key (D), tighten the jaws of the Crossbars (A) on the raised rails of the vehicle so they
hold firmly on the rails. Be careful not to overtighten;
4.
If the accessories used attaches in the ‘’T’’ slot on top of the Crossbars (A), remove the rubber strip, insert the T-‐bolts, cut the
rubber strip to the desired dimensions and insert it into the T-‐slot;
5.
Insert the Removable caps (B) at the ends of the Crossbars (A). Be careful to insert them straight in order not to bend or break
any part of the Removable caps (B) which may subsequently become unuseable;
6.
If the accessories used do not attach in the T-‐slot on top of the Crossbars (A), insert the Removable caps (B) at the ends of the
Crossbars (A). Be careful to insert them straight in order not to bend or break any part of the Removable caps (B) which may
subsequently become unuseable;
7.
Attach the accessories to the Crossbars (A) following the manufacturer recommandations.
