Caution

Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from flying chips or dust.

 Wear a dust mask.

When cutting metal wear protective gloves to protect your hands
from hot flying chips.

Be sure to hold the saw’s shoe firmly against the workpiece
while cutting. Holding the shoe against the workpiece prevents
vibration and/or twisting of the blade, which could otherwise lead to
jamming, kickback or breakage.

Sawing

Press the saw’s shoe firmly against the workpiece.

Pull the trigger lightly and apply the blade to the workpiece.

Firstly, cut a pilot groove at a slow stroke rate. Once the pilot groove is
established, increase speed and pressure and cut through the workpiece at a
constant rate.

In the event that the blade jams switch the saw off immediately and remove the
blade from the cut.

Switch the saw off once the cut is complete.

Sawing metal

Consult the following table to determine which coolant is appropriate for your
workpiece:

Material

Lubricant

Steel

Oil

Aluminium

Turpentine or paraffin

To prevent wear to the blade it is very important to use a suitable coolant
when sawing metal.
