DESCRIPTION OF DESS SYSTEM
The Digitally Encoded Security System (DESS)
features an anti-start protection against unautho-
rized use of the watercraft. The following compo-
nents are specially designed for this system:
Multi-Purpose Electronic Module (MPEM), safety
lanyard cap and safety lanyard switch.
Each safety lanyard has its own electronic num-
ber.
Each safety lanyard has a small magnet as well as
a small micro chip molded into the rubber cap.
The magnet will close a primary circuit in the elec-
trical system. This completes the circuit and al-
lows the MPEM to read the electronic number in
the safety lanyard when connected.
NOTE:
We do not program the safety lanyard! we
record the safety lanyard electronic number into
the MPEM memory.
The MPEM also handles data input such as; cus-
tomer name, delivery date as well as records the
hours of watercraft operation.
After safety lanyard is connected to the water-
craft, 2 beeps confirm that the MPEM has recog-
nized the safety lanyard. The watercraft can be
started normally.
-
CAUTION
Never use abrasives or solvents such as ac-
etone or fuel to clean the programmer dis-
play or touch pad.
