6.5 Connection of the lubrication line
CAUTION
Risk of falling
Exercise care when dealing with lu-
bricants. Bind and remove spilled or
leaked lubricants immediately.
Connect lubrication lines in such
way that no forces are trans-
ferred to the product (tension-
free connection).
All components of the centralized lubrication
system must be laid out for:
○
the maximum arising pressure
○
the admissible temperature range
○
the output volume and the lubricant to be
supplied
Protect the centralized lubrication
system against too high pressure
by means of a suitable pressure
relief valve.
Observe the following installation instruc-
tions for safe and smooth operation.
○
Use clean components and primed lubri-
cation lines only.
○
The main lubrication line should be laid
preferably rising with a possibility to vent
it at its highest point. Lubrication lines
shall generally be laid in such way that
there can never be created air pockets at
any point.
○
Mount the lubricant metering devices
at the end of the main lubrication line in
such way that the outlets of the lubricant
metering devices show upwards.
○
If lubricant metering devices have to be
mounted below the main lubrication line,
then this should not be done at the end of
the main lubrication line.
○
The lubricant flow should not be impeded
by the installation of sharp elbows, angle
valves, gaskets protruding to the inside,
or cross-section changes (big to small).
Provide unavoidable changes of the cross
sections in the lubrication lines with as
smooth transitions as possible.
