5.5
Refilling DENTOSEPT P disinfectant
The supply module can be optionally equipped with a disinfection system.
It adds a disinfectant to the water that the user may come in contact with.
This reduces the amount of bacteria in the water lines. If you decide to
operate the simulation unit without the disinfection system, please refer
to the information in the chapter "Media quality".
Water lines, microorganisms, optional disinfection system
When the supply of disinfectant in the reservoir begins to run short
(< 300 ml), the
Disinf
display appears in the status column of the
touchscreen. Treatment can nevertheless be continued. Refill
disinfectant as soon as possible.
If the
Disinf
display does not appear, disinfectant should not be refilled.
The simulation unit may detect that disinfectant consumption is too low
due to regular refilling and report an error. See “Error messages,” Code
14.
1. Open the cover (A) of the disinfectant tank by turning it in a
counterclockwise direction.
2. Refill disinfectant. The container has a capacity of approx. 1.3 liters.
It is full when the disinfectant is visible on the filter of the filling tube.
The
Disinf
display is grayed out.

To reorder disinfectant for the water lines, see "Spare parts and
consumables."
WARNING
Microorganisms can multiply in the water.
These microorganisms could increase the risk of damage to one's
health.
➢ If the simulation unit is equipped with a disinfection system, never
operate this without disinfectant.

WARNING
It is possible to mix a cleaning agent for the suction system with the
disinfectant for the water lines.
➢ Do not fill the container of the simulation unit with the cleaning agent
for chemical suction hose cleaning! Use DENTOSEPT P
disinfectant (see “Care, cleaning, and disinfecting agents” [ → 148]).
NOTICE
Splashes of pure DENTOSEPT P can result in discoloration of surfaces
if left for too long.
Any splashes should therefore be removed immediately using a moist
cloth.
