1.
Press the driving and steering button. The button
should illuminate.
2.
Hold the enabling key of the control handle and
push it forward slowly until the machine begins to
move forward, then return the handle to the center
position. Ensure the machine moves forward and
then stops.
3.
Hold the enabling key of the control handle and
push it forward slowly until the machine begins to
move back, then return the handle to the center
position. Ensure the machine moves backward
and then stops.
NOTICE
The brake must be able to climb at any gradient and
the brake must be able to stop the machine.
A-7 Inspect Emergency Lowering
Function
NOTICE
This test is performed when the platform is empty.
1.
Push the emergency stop button on the ground con-
troller and platform controller to the ON position.
2.
Turn the key switch on the ground to the ground
control position.
3.
Move the ground lifting/lowering switch up and raise
the platform to the highest position.
4.
Pull out the emergency lowering handle located be-
hind the chassis.

The platform shall descend to the lowest position.
A-8 Test Braking Device
Braking device must operate smoothly and be in good
condition for safe and proper operation of the machine.
Do not operate the machine if the brakes make a grind-
ing sound or other abnormal noise. The machine is
braked by the front wheel.
1.
The machine only carries one person and is in the
state of fully retracted.
2.
Turn the key switch to the platform control position.
3.
Operate the control handle to drive the machine on
flat pavement at maximum speed. Then release the
handle rapidly.
4.
Measure the braking distance of the machine.
Result: The braking distance must be less than 0.4
m (15.7 in.).
NOTICE
Park the machine on a slope with maximum gra-
dient. The machine must not be able to slide.
5.
The machine is fully loaded and is in the state of
lifted.
6.
Operate the control handle to drive the machine on
flat pavement at maximum speed. Then release the
handle rapidly.
7.
Measure the braking distance of the machine.
Result: The braking distance must be less than 0.05
m (2 in.).
A-9 Full Lifting and Full Lowering Time
Test
Appropriate lifting or lowering speed is important for the
safe operation of the machine. The lifting/lowering func-
tion must be able to respond to the actions of the opera-
tor rapidly and stably, without swinging, impact and
abnormal noise.
NOTE:
Park the machine on flat, level and firm ground
and ensure that it is free of obstacles.
1.
Switch the key switch to the ground control position.
Pull the emergency stop button on the ground con-
troller and platform control box out to the “ON”
position.
2.
Move the lifting/lowering switch of the platform to
the lifting position until the platform lifts to the high-
est position.
