When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present,
basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:

Any appliance is electrically live even when the switch is off.
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always unplug appliance immediately after using.
2. Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
3. Do not place or drop in water or other liquid.
4. If appliance falls in water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into water.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury:
1. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitting from steam vents, check appli-
ance before each use by holding and facing it away from body and operating steam
button.
2. Unwind and straighten power cord and remove cardboard soleplate cover before use.
3. This appliance is intended for household and residential use only. This product is not
approved for commercial applications. Use appliance only for its intended use.
4. To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or
other liquids.
5. The appliance should always be turned off before plugging or unplugging from outlet.
Never pull the cord to disconnect from outlet, instead grasp plug and pull to discon-
nect.
6. Always disconnect appliance from electrical outlet when filling with water, emptying,
or when not in use.
7. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away.
Coil the cord loosely around the iron when storing.
8. Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord or if the appliance has been dropped
or damaged.
9. If the appliance or power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by manufacturer, its
service agent, or similarly qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.
10. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the appliance. Take, or ship it
to a qualified serviceperson for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly or repair
can cause a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when appliance is used.
11. Close supervision is required for any appliance used by or near children. Do not leave
the iron unattended while the iron is connected or on an ironing board.
12. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when
you turn steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the tank.
13. Never open the water tank door while the appliance is in use. The steam pressure
could result in burns. Only open the door when iron is cool and unplugged.
14. The use of accessory attachments is not recommended and may result in fire, electric
shock or personal injury.
15. To reduce the likelihood of circuit over load, do not operate another high wattage ap-
pliance on the same circuit.
