Defining the IP address on the computer network adapter
You must define which IP Address and Subnet mask the Ethernet adapter in the computer
shall use for this communication. As long as you do not replace the computer or the network
adapter in the computer, you only need to do this once.
Prerequisites
This procedure is made for the Microsoft
®
Windows
®
7 and 10 operating systems. It is
assumed that you are familiar with the Windows
®
operating systems, computer technology,
and interface principles.
Procedure

Close all the programs that are running on the computer.

Open the
Network Connections
dialog box.
This procedure is made for the Microsoft

10 operating system.

In the bottom-left corner of your desktop, select the Windows
®
Start
button.

On the menu, select
Settings
.

Observe that the
Settings
dialog box opens.

Select
Network and Internet
.
e
At the bottom of the dialog box, select
Change adapter options
.
f
Select the network adapter you are going to use; then right-click and select
Properties
on the short-cut menu.

On the list of connections, select
Internet Protocol 4 (TCP/IPv4)
, and then
Properties
.
