SD9K
www.simmonsdrums.net
Similar to an acoustic drum kit, the SD9K allows various playing techniques to be used.
All the pads are velocity sensitive. Some voices can change sounds, depending on the striking force.
Snare Head or Rim Shot
The SD9K Snare pad can detect Head and Rim Shots (Rim Shots trigger the Rim Voice).
Cymbal Bow or Edge Shots
The SD9K Cymbals can detect Bow and Edge Shots (Edge Shots trigger the Rim Voice).
Cymbal Choke
Choking the Cymbal’s edge with the hand immediately after hitting mutes the cymbal sound.
The Hi-Hat sound varies, depending on the position of the Hi-Hat pedal:
• Open Hi-Hat: Strike the Hi-Hat pad without pressing the pedal
• Half-Open Hi-Hat: Strike the Hi-Hat pad with the pedal pressed halfway down
• Closed Hi-Hat: Strike the Hi-Hat pad with the pedal pressed all the way down
• Foot Close: Press the pedal all the way down
• Splash: Step fully on the pedal and release it immediately
