3 INSTALLATION
3.1
General rules
a
WARNING
– The installation must conform to the local regula-
tions in force for hydraulic and electrical systems.
– The packaging of the solar water heater must be
removed at the site of installation to protect the ap-
pliance against impacts during transport. Moreover,
due to their weight, the collectors must not rest on
top of the pipe connection couplings.
– The collector’s crystals must remain covered until
the installation has been completed and the calorifier
has been filled with domestic hot water, in order to
prevent the filling liquid from boiling or the crystals
from breaking.
– Moreover, the plastic protective plugs must be remo-
ved from the calorifier and collector couplings.
3.1.1
Installation point
Before proceeding with the installation, it is necessary to choose
where to install the product very carefully (together with the cu-
stomer).
It is also necessary to verify (taking into account the static resi-
stance) that the surface can withstand the weight of the system.

a
WARNING
On inclined roofs the system must not be positioned
between two beams, but above a single beam.
3.1.2
Positioning
Correctly choosing the inclination and direction in relation to the
place of installation and the period of maximum requested pro-
duction is a crucial factor for obtaining maximum performance
from the solar system.
Solar panels must be directed so that their surface faces the
Geographic South Pole in the northern hemisphere (Geographic
North Pole in the southern hemisphere), that is, they must always
point towards the equator.

Deviations in their direction will reduce the system’s performance
.
If the deviation from the correct direction is inevitable, the sy-
stem’s performance must be corrected by increasing the surface
of the collectors on the basis of an assessment of the specific
conditions.
Given that the angle of impact of the sun’s rays varies with the se-
asons and the place where the system is installed, the inclination
of the collectors must almost be equal to the latitude of the place
of installation. This inclination will ensure maximum energy pro-
duction on an annual basis.
a
WARNING
It is necessary to prevent the system from being under
the shade of trees, buildings or other obstacles so that
the surface of the collectors is fully exposed to sunlight
for at least 4 hours in the central hours of the day.
3.1.3
Special installation solutions
If the installation surface of the solar water heater (flat or incli-
ned) is not compatible with the standard equipment supplied, a
different type of equipment must be used.
a
WARNING
– The responsibility for the equipment bears on the
installer. The company declines all responsibility in
this case.
– The installer is called upon to propose and install,
after agreeing with the customer, a different type of
equipment.
