Rinse the inside of the kettle out with clean water.
■
If there are any deposits in the kettle, wipe out the inside surface with a moist
cloth, or use a washing up brush or bottle brush. Then rinse the kettle out
with clean water again.
In the event of scale deposits
Scale deposits on the bottom of the appliance lead to increased energy con-
sumption and reduce the service life of the appliance.
Descale the appliance as soon as scale deposits become apparent.

Before descaling, remove the scale fi lter insert

(see chapter “Inserting/
removing the scale fi lter insert”).
■
Use a descaler designed for household appliances (e.g. for coff ee machines).
Proceed as detailed in the instructions provided for the use of the decalcifying
agent.
■
After descaling, rinse the appliance with lots of clean water.
Inserting / removing the scale fi lter insert
1) Open the lid.
2) Press the tab on the scale fi lter insert

slightly downwards and then pull the
scale fi lter insert
6
inwards and downwards so that you can pull it out of its
mounting.
3) Then pull the scale fi lter insert
6
upwards and out of the kettle.
4) Clean the scale fi lter insert
6
with a slightly moistened dishcloth and under
running water.
5) After cleaning, insert the scale fi lter insert
6
again. Ensure that it is sitting
correctly in its mounting, and that the tab has clicked into place.
NOTE
►
If the scale deposits in the scale fi lter insert
6
have solidifi ed, place the
fi lter in a water-vinegar solution at a ratio of 6:1 for a few hours. The scale
deposits will dissolve themselves. Rinse the scale fi lter insert
6
with plenty
of clear water.
Storage
■
Allow the appliance to cool down completely before putting it into storage.
■
Wind the power cable around the cable winder

under the base

Store the appliance at a dry location.
