Cleaning and care
DANGER – ELECTRIC SHOCK!

Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the power plug from the mains
power socket! Otherwise there is the risk of electric shock!

Never open any parts of the housing. There are no user-serviceable elements
inside. When the housing is open, there is the risk of receiving a potentially
fatal electrical shock.
Never submerge the base in water or other liquids! There is a risk of
electrocution if residual liquids come into contact with live compo-
nents during operation.

Allow the appliance to cool sufficiently before cleaning it. Risk of burns!

When cleaning the measuring cup
, be wary of the egg piercer

Do not use abrasive or caustic cleaning agents. These can attack the
surface and damage the appliance beyond repair.
Cleaning the appliance
1) First disconnect the power plug from the power socket.
2) Allow the appliance to cool down.
3) Then clean the water pan
and the mains cable with a slightly damp cloth.
4) Always dry the appliance well before using it again.
In the event of limescale
If limescale starts to build up on the water pan
, proceed as follows to remove it:
1) Fill the measuring cup
up to the "6 & 7" mark for soft-boiled eggs with
lemon juice. Then fill the measuring cup
up to the "1" mark for hard-boiled
eggs with water.
2) Tip this lemon juice solution into the water pan
.
3) Plug the mains plug into a power socket and then press the operating switch
on the left-hand side (position "
") to switch the appliance on.
