Leaked or damaged batteries can
cause chemical burns if they come into
contact with the skin; in such
cases you must wear suitable protective gloves.
J
Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous
membranes if fluid has leaked from the battery.
In the event of contact with battery acid, rinse
the affected area with plenty of clean water
and consult a doctor immediately.

Remove light dirt from the battery and product
contacts with a dry, non-fluffing cloth before
inserting the batteries.
J
Remove the batteries from the product if it is
not in use for any length of time.
J
Make sure that the polarity is correct when you in-
sert the batteries. This is indicated in the battery
compartment. The batteries can otherwise explode.
J
Insert the batteries with care. The product can
otherwise be damaged.
J
Please do not dispose of used batteries in your
household waste but take them to a designated
collection depot for special waste.

Getting started
1. Open the battery compartment

on the back
of the product by pushing the clip of the bat-
tery compartment cover

towards the bat-
tery compartment

and lift the cover off.
2. Remove the isolating strip. This is located be-
tween the batteries and the battery compart-
ment

.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover

on
the battery compartment

. Make sure that
the two extensions on the battery compartment
cover

engage in the two openings in the
battery compartment
8
. Press the battery
compartment cover
9
onto the battery com-
partment
8
until it noticeably and audibly
clicks into place.

1. Open the battery compartment

2. Remove the used batteries from the battery
compartment

by carefully pushing the con-
tact

upwards a little. Make sure that you do
not exert too much pressure on the contact

It may otherwise be damaged.
Remove the batteries from the battery compart-

3. Insert the new batteries. Make sure that the polari-
ty is correct. The “+“ must be pointing upwards.
Press the contact

down again carefully so
that the batteries are held in the battery com-
partment

4. Close the battery compartment

above.

Weighing
nOtE:
The kitchen scale

always starts at
0 g/0.0 oz when you switch it on. If you place the
weighing bowl

on the kitchen scale

before
switching it on, 0 g/0.0 oz “Zero“ is displayed.
However, if you place the weighing bowl

on
the kitchen scale

after you have switched it on,
the scale will indicate the weight of the weighing
bowl

. Press the zero button

to reset the dis-
play to 0 g/ 0.0 oz.

Select the unit of weight by pressing the Unit

and “oz/lb“.

The scale operates almost exactly the
same way without the bowl
